International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation

International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation

Today, Russell International School joins the global community in observing International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is a violation of human rights and a harmful practice that affects the health, dignity, and future of millions of girls and women around the world. It has no medical benefit and can lead to serious physical, emotional, and psychological consequences.

As an institution committed to excellence, service, and the holistic development of every child, we stand firmly for:

🔹 The protection of every girl child
🔹 The right to safety, health, and education
🔹 Raising awareness through knowledge and advocacy
🔹 Promoting respect, equality, and human dignity

Education is a powerful tool for change. By fostering informed, compassionate, and courageous young leaders, we contribute to building a future where harmful practices like FGM no longer exist.

Together, we say NO to FGM and YES to a safe, empowered future for every girl.

Every girl deserves a childhood free from harm, a future full of opportunity, and a voice that is heard — zero tolerance for anything less.”
